Sea Scout Wreck
The “Sea Scout” boat is a 104′ ARB (Aircraft Rescue Boat) Design 235A , which was used during World War II as a fast response boat to rescue downed pilots. In later years, it was used as a training vessel by Sea Scouts and sometime between 1964 and 1980, it was left in the Burning Basin. A photogrammetry model (courtesy of Taylor Picard, East Carolina University) helps to show and interpret the remains of this vessel.
